Shep's story.

Everything in Shep centers on a person's story. It seemed only right to share mine.

In 2022, my wife and I moved to Orange County alongside our friends and pastors, Joseph and Christine Pringle, with a clear call: to plant a church. Before that, I'd served at a location in Los Angeles that is part of the C3 Global church movement, and between those two experiences a pattern became impossible to ignore. There was no real system, platform, or method for walking with people as a team.

Visibility on people is a gap I've seen over and over, in teams and churches of every size. From a pastor's standpoint, knowing where people actually are matters enormously. Yet the only tools that existed were databases built to track attendance numbers and key performance indicators. They could tell you how many people showed up. They couldn't tell you anything about who those people were becoming.

I have a passion for bringing solutions into ministry that make it fun and enjoyable, and I believe that starts with centering everything on Jesus and then on his mission, which is his people. So I set out to bring interactions and relationship visibility into the mix, and what I found along the way was that the most necessary thing wasn't a better metric. It was people's stories.

A person's story says so much more than the numbers ever will.

That's the heart of Shep. I wanted a way to intentionally share someone's story with a team, to edify that team and to build a shared language of encouragement and intentionality around a few simple questions: How are we walking with people? Where are they in their journey? How do we celebrate them? And ultimately, how well do we really know them?

This is my passion, and it's the passion of our church: to see people discipled well. We didn't come into ministry to make more Christians. We're in ministry to make disciples, because that's what we were called to do. I want to see the potency of our people grow. I want them to be known. And I want them to go on to make disciples themselves.

Shep exists to make that possible, not by replacing relationship with data, but by giving teams the visibility they need to walk with people faithfully and to tell the stories that numbers alone never could.
